Wedding Date on Apr 20, 2022

Emma and Joe had a real lively wedding at the exclusive use Woodhill Hall overlooking the Otterburn countryside in Northumberland. It is a venue that we first came across in December 2019 and one of our favourites to film at as there are so many wonderful places to film. Since our first visit the venue have added The Olive House to have the ceremony in which has a distinctive Greek feel about it. It was the first time we had worked with photographer Katy Melling at the wedding. Katy’s style is very editorial that often graces the high end publications and you can see why Emma and Joe picked her for her wedding day. Emma was married in a stunning dress from Mia Sposa Bridal Boutique whilst Joe wore a Moss Bros suit. The morning was very relaxed and we were welcomed by their family on arrival. Most times when you start filming you don’t know what is going to happen so you are always looking for something that stands out. During the morning preparations Joe and his groomsmen started singing the song It Must Be Love so we filmed it and decided to use it as the intro to the wedding film. It wasn’t until the couple watched the wedding film that Emma said it was their song which made it even more special and that she didn’t even know the lads sung on the morning. It is these moments where the couple don’t see on their morning that makes the whole film that even more special. So how did the couple get together? Both Emma and Joe’s mothers have been involved in musical theatre for over 40 years and it is through their local group that they met. When Emma was 11 she joined the group and then a couple of years later Joe joined too. It wasn’t until a few years later that they became close friends and finally started going out in 2014, when they played the roles of Princeton and Kate Monster in the musical Avenue Q. It really was a public proposal as Joe proposed to Emma after the bows on the final night of their production of The Addams Family. Emma was playing Morticia Addams and Joe was playing Lucas Beineke. They were surrounded by all their family and Emma’s mother and sister were both in the cast, her dad the stage manager and Joe’s mother was the director. It was perfect as they were surrounded by their family and friends. Emma and Joe had originally planned to be married at another venue however closed during the pandemic. It was when they were looking for an alternative venue they found Woodhill Hall. Emma said; “We both wanted an exclusive hire venue with accommodation, so we could stay with our wedding party the night before the wedding and the night of. “I am in LOVE with the Olive House, that was what originally drew me. We like the total different areas and vibes you get to with the three places for the ceremony, the wedding breakfast and the party.”
