After dealing with all of the trouble of planning and then postponing a wedding in 2020 all while preparing for a move to Alaska, both Emily and Gabriel concluded that they would be better off just keeping things small. And there's no better way to keep things small than having an elopement at home when you happen to live in one of the most beautiful places in the country!
Their story is one of those classic high school sweetheart stories. Going to prom together, dating through college, jobs, moves, and sticking together through it all. They pair each other so well, and it's so obvious how they have lasted throughout all of these years. It was such a pleasure to have to opportunity to not only film their elopement but also take the time to see them in their home and get such a fun picture of what their life is like all the way up north.
When scoping out areas nearby, Emily found the most beautiful and secluded small mountain range at Mount Prindle. So, we made a quick day of it and drove the 2 hours from their house up to the mountains. We did make a quick pitstop at a farmer's market along the way for Emily to pick her bouquet, which is hands-down one of my favorite wedding day moments to date! They read their vows surrounded by their family and then went on a short hike, crossing two creeks, into the valley to get a better view of the mountains. There, they shared their first dance, popped some champagne, and celebrated. The most beautiful and simple day in such a majestic location seemed to fit them so well.
