Classic, soft, and utterly romantic. Emily & Buddy’s wedding at the grand and classically southern Southside Baptist Church was absolutely stunning, and their reception at the Historic Florentine Building downtown made for the best. night. ever. The two high school sweethearts may have had their first date at the Shrimp Boat in Panama City, but their wedding was no backyard shrimp boil. Each detail was planned and executed with absolute perfection–all the way from the invitation suite designed by Place by the Point and calligraphy by Gracefully Made Art and day-of coordination by Courtney with La Belle Vie Weddings. Emily & Buddy are not the type to brag on themselves, but it only takes a few seconds of listening to their friends and family speak about them to know that they are two incredible people. They continued their relationship from high school to college in two different cities, Emily at Auburn getting her Masters in Accounting, and Buddy at Samford becoming a Doctor of Pharmacy. Buddy proposed to Emily in the sweetest way, and as Emily tells it, the sneakiest! She told me, “I received an e-invitation for a friend’s engagement party at the Botanical Gardens. We showed up and were walking to find our friends and he dropped down on one knee. It turns out the engagement party was my own.” 🙂 From the sweeping cathedral veil Emily wore with her stunning Augusta Jones gown, to Buddy’s two tuxedos (because what gentleman doesn’t change into a white dinner jacket for an evening reception), this southern gal and her fella sure lived up to the old saying that true love only comes around once in a blue moon. Emily & Buddy lit up each room with their precious grins and big laughs. Gorgeous attire and decor aside, I think that what stood out to me most about these two was that at THEIR wedding reception, they took time to ask ME if I had a good day. At their wedding. That’s just who they are. Two of the nicest people you will ever meet. And their wedding day. Was. Perfect.
