Ameer and Ellen's wedding was a beautiful example of a multi-cultural wedding. Whether it was pre-destined or random chance, Ameer was right - this moment in time was a beautiful thing.
Lately, I've been seeing the most gorgeous Indian American wedding videos but most of them seem to use the same kind of instrumental Indian music, but not all couples identify with that music. So I really love how the music in this video turned out since It has something from the different sides of their different cultures and tastes. For many 2nd or 3rd generation Indian Americans, American music is a big part of their lives too even when they are still so connected with their roots, so for the Indian side a song like "Wagon Wheel" is part of them, even more when they've grown up in NC, so seeing elements of their culture mixing with that song is very special. Then there are the southern Americans that were there that weekend that now have the Indian music as are part of their lives, all of them connected to it now, so each time they hear that music they'll remember the great time that they had that weekend.
As we know, music is a strong part of who we are, music brings us memories, related to different times of our lives, and it can express feelings that we can't put to words, and cause millions of chills even if we don't fully understand the lyrics, that is how powerful music is. When Ameer and Ellen reached out to us, they were looking for a video that can reflect each of their music sides, plus all that music that is part of them as a couple.
I was so happy to be a part of this event, and as I told Ameer and Ellen, I haven't felt so at home in a long time as I did with their families, thank you two for making me such a wonderful part of this beautiful weekend!
