Times have changed in a Covid world. Distancing, solitude, and introversion are things that have become the norm. So, it is simply amazing that not only did Eline and Abner meet just 5 months before they said their "I do's", but they fell head over heels in love, and decided to do a destination wedding in Guadalajara, Jalisco Mexico at the Hacienda Labor de Rivera (which is about 40 miles outside of the city in the beautiful countryside). Suddenly, life became very fast-paced for the both of them! We were contacted just 2 weeks before their wedding to come down from Atlanta to capture all of the magic! After a quick Zoom call to meet face-to-face, we were off to the races to prepare!
Traveling to another country is not the easiest thing to do during a pandemic, especially when you are bringing professional gear. But we took it one step at a time, and everything fell into place! They both live in California and Eline had family and friends traveling from her in the Netherlands, while Abner's family lives in Guadalajara. It was a beautiful mix of family, faith, culture, friendship, and love.
I believe their faith is a powerful component in their relationship and it was an awesome thing to document. There were a lot of traditions and key family moments all throughout the day. The wedding was very intimate (with only about 20 guests at a secluded venue), which fit them to a tee.
I am very fortunate to have a job that takes me on adventures like this to capture people at such important life moments and document them for lifelong memories. This is a journey that I will never forget!
