Told by the Bride: Marco and I met through our church during a missions trip. We hosted a VBS camp in Nevada and were placed on the same team. It was not love at first sight—Marco was dating someone else at the time, and neither of us really noticed each other. In fact, out of everyone on the team, we connected the least in our group! Even though we didn’t connect on the trip, I wanted to reach out to him after hearing that his girlfriend at the time broke up with him. That same night during our church’s youth group service, we were doing an ice breaker and answered the question, “What’s your dream vacation?” The answer to that question is what started our journey. We both realized that we had the same dream vacation since the 5th grade, which was to visit Venice, Italy. Later that night, I mustered the courage to reach out to Marco, and the rest is history. After dating for about 5 years, Marco proposed on the summer of 2015 in the same place where he had asked me to be his girlfriend. It was an utter surprise, with pictures to prove it, and was followed by an engagement party with family and friends. What made our wedding experience special to us was the fact many of our dreams realized individually and in our dating years became realities. While we dated, we stumbled upon the ceremonial site of The Wigwam while visiting some friends who were staying there. We commented how this would be the perfect place to get married, and that is exactly what we did. All of our closest family and friends attended, and every detail came together without a hitch. Our wedding day was truly magical, and we had a fantastic photographer and videographer to capture it all. To complete our wonderful wedding experience, we finally took our dream vacation to Venice, Italy for our honeymoon and loved every minute of it.
