Diane met Javier (and his best friend Matt - the officiant) in 2013 when they all worked together at a short term residential treatment facility for foster youth. Diane recalled that Javi was very nice to her when she was the 'new girl' at work. They were friends for a long time before slowly realizing their true feelings. During a work outing at a baseball game (they're both big baseball fans!) they held hands and decided their relationship was worth pursuing. They, along with their two witnesses and officiant, road tripped up to Washington from California to get married with Rainier as their witness. I’d say these views were totally worth the hike, wouldn’t you?
