Demi and James both grew up going to Clover schools. James was a grade ahead of Demi, but they were both familiar with each other’s families. Demi's mom was actually James’s 4th grade teacher and Demi had hung out with Carley (his twin sis) many times in high school! They didn’t officially “meet” until years later at a mutual friend’s college graduation party in 2016. It took going away to two different rival colleges and coming home to celebrate a friend for their paths to officially cross. They ended up hitting it off and talking the night away. Demi says James was so charming, giggly, and cute. She didn’t want him to leave! A few days later James reached out to Demi on Facebook chat asking for her number. She convinced him to come pick her up by boat and cruise around. The couple has been inseparable ever since!
