Wedding Date on Oct 13, 2018

We’ve traveled to Mexico for weddings and some much needed Vitamin D before but our most recent time in Playa del Carmen had us riding a high for quite some time. The exceptional Banyan Tree Mayakoba played witness to Della and Andrew’s intensely beautiful ceremony while the good vibes of the Catch Thompson Playa del Carmen carried us well into the night. Della and Andrew are the real deal and by their own admission, have the opposite of a fairy tale kind of relationship. They grew up together in Seoul, Korea but in time, Andrew and his family would move to Albany, New York and it would be years before they thought of each other again. Fast forward to today and the pair have been through breakups and makeups, long distance longing, and much uncertainty throughout their 14 year saga. So, it came as no surprise that the air would be thick with emotion as they celebrated and danced the mother flippin’ night away at their destination wedding in Playa del Carmen. To be there is to know what love is: surrounded by those who’ve seen you become who you are today. Yacht parties in the Riviera Maya. Trusting tacos and friendship and life laid bare to light the way. Evidence of yourselves in your traditional hanbok. Red wine and a pool and deliriously in love humans. From laughter to full-blown tears in a matter of seconds. Loving hard and partying harder. Because you can’t live without each other.
