Wedding Date on Sep 17, 2016

From The Bride: Rob surprised me at Christmas with a beautiful hand written card that detailed that he had planned to take me away to Noosa for the weekend as a Christmas present, which I later figured out conveniently fell on Valentine’s Day weekend. Although the coincidence was brought up by my cousins at Christmas who asked straight up if he was going to propose (which Rob refused to address haha), I just laughed it off that he got two presents for the price of one. I never once thought that he had anything else planned! We always knew we would be together forever but we hadn’t really discussed engagements before. I was so excited because Rob was working away at the time that it gave us something to look forward too whilst he was living and working in Gympie and I still lived on the Gold Coast. The weekend finally came and the weather was horrible. It was raining Friday night as I drove up and it poured down most of Saturday. I have never seen someone so stressed about the weather. I was just too excited to see him and didn’t care if we didn’t do anything else, I was happy to stay inside. Sunday and Valentine’s Day rolled around and it was sunny! He said that he had made plans to do something which was really sweet and told me to go wait in reception whilst he went to the car to get his sunglasses, which he ‘conveniently’ left there so he could collect the ring (mastermind haha CUTIE!). He came to reception and instead of walking outside the resort reception, he said ‘lets go for a walk’. Where we were staying was right on the river so we walked to the back of the resort, it was beautiful, we were just talking about how nice it was that the sun came out. Then before I knew it we were at a Jetty and here was a beautiful wooden boat by Noosa dream boats pulled up and I was in awe– of course I was about a million times more excited when I looked at him and he said that was for us! The surprise began with a gorgeous cruise around Noosa River, the skipper was so friendly and funny and we were having the best time with him. It was so beautiful looking at the houses on the river, and how pretty the weather was highlighted the scenery perfectly. Rob was holding on to our towels so tightly I thought his hand might break so I asked if he would like me to hold them and he politely refused. I still hadn’t picked up on anything. As sunset came around, we pulled up and the skipper collected this beautiful picnic for us – I was so excited there was food (and that he had thought of all of this)! We pulled up the boat at this beautiful little sand island and this gorgeous picnic was set up around us with wine, rugs, pillows and this delicious seafood meal to share. The skipper left us there and advised he would be back later. I was so happy just spending time with Rob after not seeing him much whilst he was working away. Over the course of dinner, he was practically drinking the bottle of wine himself. I laughed and teased him for not drinking enough water that day. He kept asking the time that they were returning but I was too happy just enjoying the surroundings. At the end of our meal, Rob asked if we could go take some photos with the beautiful sunset. Me, being the girl I am, of course I wanted more pictures to look at of my favourite human and I. So I didn’t think anything of it although it was very out of character for him to ask that. We stood up and were taking photos of the sunset and I turned my phone around to take a photo of us and he had disappeared from my screen. I turned around and looked down and he was on the sand, on one knee with this beautiful ring box. Tears filled my eyes; I was in complete shock and crying so much at what he was saying, that I completely forgot to respond to him and say yes!!! It was more than I ever could have imagined, such a surprising and magical moment that we will cherish forever. It was perfect & he is perfect. We met in at a uni night at the gold coast casino.
