Megan and Matt weren't sure if they had room in their budget for a videographer, so they considered not having one. But, after watching a ton of videos on Love Stories TV, Megan noticed how much she loved NST Pictures' videos and decided to book them! (Our work here is done. 😎) Megan and Matt are, as you can imagine, v. happy they hired a videographer to capture their special day for years to come. As a bride, it is so easy to miss moments in all the excitement. With a videographer, you're able to get those moments back, which is something Megan is extremely grateful for. In sum, Megan and Matt's story is just another reason why you NEED a videographer at your wedding. Watch their full video below and read on for all the wedding deets.

The Love Story

How did you meet and fall in love?

Matt and I met the old-fashioned way: [We were] setup by a mutual friend! I was living in Boston and working in marketing, while Matt was attending graduate school at Northeastern. I made it no secret that I had a crush on him for a few months after our first meeting. We went out for pizza before my 24th birthday and the rest is history!

Tell us how the proposal happened.

Matt and I had been discussing getting married after dating for four-and-a-half years. On a trip to Portsmouth, New Hampshire, Matt dropped to one knee in the snow outside of a brewery we loved. It was just the two of us, laughing and crying in the snow. It was perfect.

Where did you get your engagement ring?

We worked with a family friend to design a ring with a setting done by Gabriel and Co., with a non-conflict Canadian diamond with two small sapphires on either side.

The Wedding

What products and/or vendors made your wedding so beautiful?

Matt and I only looked at a few venues before deciding on the Providence Public Library in Providence, Rhode Island. The ornate and European design of the venue served as most of our decoration–we wanted it to look classic and let the venue stand on its own. Morins Catering is the venue's exclusive caterer and the food was outrageously good! People are still telling us how amazing the food was.

Tell us about something that was creative or unique to your wedding.

Matt and I love craft beer–we did get engaged outside of a brewery! I had been reading about unity ceremonies, but none of the options felt like us. I came across a beer ceremony option, where the bride and groom each pour a beer into a glass to create a 'new brew.' Ours ended up being mostly foam, but everyone loved that personal touch.

Describe the moment from your wedding day that stands out to you the most.

Matt and I were adamant that we have a first look. Walking down the grand staircase and seeing Matt for the first time is one memory I will hold forever. Matt's favorite part: \"All of it.\"

How did you find your wedding dress? Who designed it and how did you know it was The One?

I had no idea what I wanted for my wedding dress. Everything I was trying on was either all lace and strapless (no, thank you) or heavily beaded and modern (beautiful, but not for me). On my last visit before taking a break from shopping, I found a beautiful Allure Bridal gown at VOWS in Watertown. It just felt the most like me!

What made your wedding feel extra special to you and your partner?

I loved having a head table with our whole bridal party–it felt like we were having our own huge dinner party in the middle of the wedding.

How did you find your filmmaker and what made you choose them?

I found NST Pictures on, wait for it, LoveStories TV! I didn't know whether or not a wedding video was something we should make room in the budget for. After watching several videos on Love Stories TV, I realized the ones I loved the most were by NST Pictures. I loved working with Farrah, who is on their team, and we found a package that worked right in our budget.

What is your favorite moment from your wedding film?

I loved watching all of our friends and family dancing the night away! It was a moment I didn't get to see live, so it was such a treat to see [after].

Tell us the No. 1 piece of wedding planning advice you wish you would have known OR that you found to be the most helpful.

Oh boy! I'd say truly try to enjoy your engagement. Matt and I were working so hard on the wedding during the year that we were engaged. I wish we took time to celebrate little moments. A friend of mine got five bottles of wine with labels like \"open when you pick your dress,\" \"open when you find a venue.\" I think that is such a wonderful way to celebrate the little moments! It only happens once–take the time to enjoy the ride.

The Couple

What do you think the \"secret sauce\" to your relationship is?

Unconditional positive regard. What I mean by that is, we accept and support each other regardless of what the person says or does. Whether we're in a bad mood or having a rough day, we work hard to remember that we're on the same team and neither of us does anything intentionally to hurt the other. It's our north star and has made our relationship work for the past six years.
