Wedding Date on Oct 5, 2019

Colin + Caroline knew about each other all the way back to high school. They were close due to their shared love of music, but not super close by any means. They went their separate ways after high school, and reconnected when they crossed paths in Richmond, VA. Colin, who had been looking for a female vocalist for some songs, invited Caroline to join him on some tracks, and the two suddenly become the American-folk duo, Colin + Caroline. They played for a while, writing music and performing together, only as a duo, but not quite as a couple. It wasn’t until a wedding at The Island (where they would later get married!) that they both confessed their feelings for each other, and started dating soon thereafter. In fact, their hit song, More Than Gravity, was written before they were officially dating, and they soon would realize that it was a perfect telling of their very own love story. “The Island” has been in Caroline’s family for three generations. It’s where she + Colin danced the night away at her cousin’s wedding + realized there might be something more between them. It’s where Colin asked permission from Caroline’s parents to marry their daughter. It’s where he then asked Caroline to spend the rest of their lives together. And on October 5, it’s where they shared handwritten promises in front of all of their closest friends + family as they decided on forever together. It was a dreamy fall wedding day — made complete through some of the sweetest touches! Pumpkins filling the space, digging up a bottle of bourbon they had buried + sharing it with their bridal party, an oyster bar, cigar + whiskey collections, an incredible live band, the most fun parent dances we’ve ever seen, a musical performance by our bride + groom (who are talented musicians who fell in love making music together), + a total surprise firework show for our bride + groom courtesy of Caroline’s family! Ps. We can’t share about these two without bragging on them for a few seconds as two of the most incredible singer song-writers. You HAVE to check out their music on Spotify! Their song, “More Than Gravity,” that they played for everyone at their reception was actually featured in the hit tv show “13 Reasons Why.” We had so many of their songs in our fall playlists before they even reached out to us so you can bet that we fan-girled SO hard when they asked us to be their wedding videographers!
