Wedding Date on Aug 20, 2016

Claudia is from Chicago and Eli is from the DC area (Chevy Chase, MD) Even though they went to the same college, Duke, they didn't meet until their Junior year while studying abroad in Madrid. They dated for eight years! After Claudia waited patiently for eight years (and after moving together from NYC to SF) Eli proposed in Kauai, HI while on vacation over memorial day weekend in 2015. Claudia didn't expect it to happen then since she 1) didn't think he would get the ring in time and 2) thought it would be too predictable. On the 3rd day in Kauai as Claudia was finishing getting ready for sunset drinks at the St Regis, Eli had put up notes all around their condo with the last note leading Claudia towards the hidden beach path he had found. Eli was holding the last note and proposed. Each note had a reason written why Eli loved Claudia (a question that throughout their eight years together Claudia would always ask, "What do you love about me?" Eli always answered vaguely with something like "Everything.")
