“The couple met in first grade and Wylie was Chelsea‘s first kiss in the 7th grade. They reconnected in high school and have been together for 8 years. Wylie proposed underneath a waterfall in Costa Rica! Originally the couple had planned a destination wedding in Grand Lake, Colorado. However, after the wildfires in 2020, the venue burnt down and they had to start the planning all over again. Chelsea reached out to North Star Gatherings and they were willing to work with her to create a dreamy New Year’s Eve winter wedding. The bride envisioned a romantic, elegant, vintage day full of pampas grass, travel decor, velvet, and black tie elements. Chelsea is a wedding videographer, so she brought a few of her favorite vendors from Wisconsin, and found a few more in Colorado to bring the vision to life. She also had her team film the wedding day, while she edited the wedding video! The couple was getting ready on their wedding day when they got a call from the venue asking if they had wanted to postpone due to the massive snowstorm moving in. Due to ALL the guests traveling to Colorado from Wisconsin, the couple kept plans as is and went with it. What a DREAMY SNOW day it was! The couple shared a first look on a cliff, a ceremony that graced all the guests with white heads by the end of it, and danced by the fire while the snow continued to fall. So much so that the venue kicked everyone out 6 hours early for safety concerns. After leaving the venue, the shuttles all got stuck on a hill, and the guests were all pushing the shuttles in their tuxes up the mountain! The bride’s truck eventually had to tow one of the shuttles up!! Finally after about 3 hours, they arrived back at the hotel in Golden where they partied the night away. A wedding day that will truly not be forgotten.”
