Casey & Xander met mutual friends at a bar. After chasing Casey around to another bar she eventually relented and let Xander give her his phone number. The rest as they say is history. The pair traveled to Chile in the spring of 2017. The first portion of the trip was an adventurous hiking trip in northern Chile (San Pedro Atacama). They stayed at a resort complete with ten cottages, cozy open air community area sprinkled with fireplaces, gourmet Chilean meals, a knowledgable sommelier specializing in Chilean wine, and a personal guide who took them on daily excursions. Sounds pretty magical, huh? After a couple of days immersed in this beautiful place, a particularly special day came. The morning of their engagement, Casey & Xander set off on a scenic drive through the Andes Mountains freshly powdered with snow. They hiked the area, saw amazing wildlife, and visited the Tatio Geyser. The snowy mountains caused most large tours traveling to this area to cancel, to their benefit! Their guide suggested taking a photo of us with the picturesque backdrop of the Andes Mountains. Casey thought the altitude had gotten to Xander's head as he was going on and on about how they were meant to be and how much he loved her... suddenly, Xander bent down on one knee and asked Casey if she would marry him which was answered with an astounding, tearful and excited "Yes!" After this incredible moment they started back to the resort. Their guide suggested they take a scenic walk as a newly engaged couple, when they came upon a red checkered table cloth picnic waiting for them with champagne!
