What began as a beautiful love story along Kōkī Beach in Haneoʻo on the Hāna coast of Maui turned full circle as Casey and Matt exchanged their wedding vows at the same beach. The gorgeous red sand of Kōkī Beach created a stunning backdrop for Casey and Matt's beach wedding ceremony. Taking the drive to Hāna is long, but for a wedding like this, it is more than worth it. The town of Hāna is a perfect location for a destination wedding, especially when planned by the Hana Wedding Co. Everything about the wedding day was perfect - the sunny weather for a day at the beach, the quiet spot for an intimate wedding ceremony, and even the beautiful hale (traditional Hawaiian house) at Holani Hana which hosted the reception and after-party. Our Hāna adventure began with a short pit stop in Pāʻia for all last minute rations, then began on the full 46 mile drive along the infamous Hāna Highway. I gave myself a couple extra hours for this drive with the intention of stopping along the way to let the drone out. With a few dozen epic waterfalls along the way, I was certain that there would be a perfect opportunity to capture something epic. Upon arriving to Hāna, the bridal party was already in the middle of getting ready - hair and makeup underway and all groomsmen dressed and ready to go. Everyone's was excited for the upcoming ceremony and the weather seemed to hold up. Usually the weather in Hāna is very predictable with low-lying clouds through out the afternoon looming with intermitent showers. This afternoon was an exception. I think my favorite part of this entire experience, in addition to working with such an amazing couple, was the opportunity to be welcomed in to their community of friends and family in Hāna. I feel like I am now a part of this Hāna ohana as a result of this wedding day and will always remember this truly memorable wedding ceremony.
