From the Couple: We first met back in 2009. We were Freshmen at Wake Forest University, and both auditioning for the school's comedy troupe. We spent the first year of school as good friends. But starting sophomore year, we began to spend more and more time together, and quickly realized there was something more brewing. We started dating in November of 2010 and have been making each other laugh and continued to fall for each other again and again ever since. The proposal happened in December, 2017. Kevin had moved to Boston eight months prior, after three years of long-distance dating. He told Carolyn to keep the weekend of December 2nd open for a weekend getaway. It wasn't until we landed in Charlotte, NC that she realized we were going to Winston-Salem, the place where we met eight years earlier. Kevin recreated our first date, starting at the Tanglewood Festival of Lights, a holiday light show extravaganza. Afterwards, he suggested we go to Wake Forest's campus for old time's sake. As we walked around the main quad, he reflected on our relationship, threw in a dramatic pause, and got down on one knee. Just when Carolyn thought life couldn't get any better, we walked into breakfast on Sunday to find our parents seated at the table—the cherry on top of an already perfect weekend.
