From The Bride: Carley and Justin met on July 27, 2013, through Match. com. Carley was working in Nashville, Tennessee, and Justin was stationed at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Carley, having just recently moved to Nashville with hardly any connections and Justin, who had just come back from deployment, both wanted to find someone special without resorting to the typical bar-hop scene in Nashville. After a couple of horrible, presumptuous dates established through Match. com, Carley vowed the next date would be the last date while on the site. Justin had been on the site for all of about a week without much luck. For some reason, Justin found Carley's bitter tirade of a profile enticing. Justin asked her out to a movie and dinner in Nashville. With an unusual first date movie choice of The Conjuring followed by a horrible Thai restaurant dinner, the date proved Carley's cynical dry wit and Justin's charming curmudgeon demeanor were a match. Over the months and years to follow, Justin put Carley through the Army-lifestyle wringer so-to-say all the while having adventure after adventure. Skydiving, Cape Canaveral launches, beach excursions, distillery tours, motorcycle rides, concerts, shooting ranges, snorkeling, dance lessons, just to name a few. Along with the adventures came personal achievements for both. Justin was promoted to Captain and Carley was promoted to Graduate Enrollment Counselor at Bethel University, as well as earning her MBA in Criminal Justice Administration. In May 2015, Justin moved to Fort Rucker, Alabama, to complete the 6-month Captain Career Course. The couple made the long distance work over the few months that followed. Then, in October 2015, Carley bit the bullet and joined Justin at Fort Rucker. Here, they adopted their first pup, Ally, then were stationed to Savannah, Georgia, in January 2016, where they found their second pup, Hunter. Justin asked Carley's dad for her hand in December 2015. Justin had wanted to plan a big, extravagant proposal, but true to Army tradition, plans were changed, months passed, and both of them itching for it to happen. In June of 2016, in the quietness and comfort of their home with their two pups, Justin asked Carley to marry him through a heartfelt letter that competes with Noah's in The Notebook movie. The rest is history.
