From The Bride: Our story began in middle school when we were best friends. As we grew up and went through high school together, our friendship grew even stronger and we began to realize that we were not only best friends, but we were soulmates. We finally decided to make it official during our senior year of high school. Looking back, I think our family and friends knew we would marry each other before we even knew we were in love! From holding hands in the hallways at Fisher Catholic High School to growing old together, we feel so lucky to have a love that is deeply rooted in friendship. I get to marry my high school sweetheart & best friend!-Brooke and Michael Mikes writing, "From the day I (Mike) asked her dads permission I knew that it was going to be hard for me trying to keep it a secret but I knew I needed to wait until the perfect moment where she would least expect it. I wanted to make sure to surprise her because anyone who knows her knows she is a female Bond. I set it up with her best friend Lindsay months before and planned to surprise her during her upcoming trip to Nashville. Leading up to the day I proposed, I was pretty nervous and wanted to make it perfect. I knew she did not have a clue when she texted the day before and day of about our puppy every hour. I chose Nashville because we like to travel and I knew it was somewhere we could visit back to easily in the future. The morning of the proposal, I drove to Nashville, stopped to changed my clothes at the hotel, and then headed off to Lindsays boyfriends apartment. I got flowers on our way to the Parthenon and thats when I really started to get nervous. It was like a million knots and excitement at the same time. I walked pillar to pillar, hiding behind each one and hoping she wouldn't turn around. When I finally saw her all of my nerves went away and I became overly anxious. I snuck up behind her and put my arms around her (flowers and all) and the look on her face was just the biggest shock. I knelt down, said my speech which came out completely natural than the original one I had memorized. She screamed that three letter word and it easily became the best moment of my life!" Italy (Europe itself) was a no brainer for us! There are two passions we share equally: eating great food and traveling.
