I was originally excited for this wedding because it meant I got to make a trip out to the Bighorns. I had no idea what I was walking into.

This wedding had one of the most unique and hilarious ceremonies I have EVER seen, with 2 officiants/stand up comics leading the charge and a (most likely staged) disaster averted with the rings. I can't help but chuckle whenever I think about this day.

Casual weddings are most often a style used in backyard weddings, but we also see it at beach or tented weddings. For the attire, brides may want to wear a tea-length dress or jumpsuit. Grooms should stick to lighter shades, like tan, and toss the jacket.

A casual wedding is playful, fun and great for weddings with a smaller guest list. The ceremony is often outdoors or hosted in a backyard and we love the thought of using benches for the seating to really keeps the formality to a minimum. String lights are a must!

There's no need for china or chargers at a casual reception so have fun with the place settings, like a patterned or textured placemat. As for food, comfort food is a no-brainer. Try an elevated version like mini chicken and waffles or shooters of tomato soup with tiny grilled cheese bites on the side. We encourage you to consider family-style dining as opposed to a formal plated dinner.
