Britt and Collin traveled from Pittsburgh all the way to the beautiful San Juan Island in Washington State. These two had a totally unique vision for their wedding - wanting it to feel dark, and in Britt's words, "haunted as f*ck". It was the MOST fun day - just the two of them and their two best friends, celebrating and making the promises of a lifetime. They said their vows on the a rocky PNW beach, explored ancient graveyards and even an infamously haunted mausoleum in the woods. Washington had been experiencing wildfires and smoky conditions for weeks before their elopement, and DURING their wedding ceremony it finally began to rain and clear the skies, which felt so symbolic. From the Bride: "Soooo Collin and I were friends before we dated. We were both in relationships and really never thought anything of each other. At one point we both were single, I was just getting out of a rocky relationship, we both were processing and moving on from our past and during all of this him and I became closer and he really was the only reason I was able to be as strong as I was through it all. We leaned on each other, talked openly, built trust and a relationship and in no time fell for each other. We were inseparable. Because of our previous friendship we were able to quickly build a life together without that awkward stage. He is truly the love of my life and I know for sure that I am his. Our love burns pretty damn bright so I know neither of us will ever be in the dark again. I brought Collin to my favorite place on earth (the san juan islands) and he quickly fell in love with it almost as much as me. It was a place I fell for because of my love for orcas. A few years ago I saw the whales for the first time in person from the shore. Nothing has been able to top that moment, so this place and the beauty/ love surrounding it has since captured very special place in my heart. When we decided to elope, we wanted a place that was special to both of us. Somewhere we could find peace and just focus on us. A place we could always go back to and cherish for years to come. I wanted to support local and small vendors, and share this special place with our friends who traveled with us. And soon we plan to share this beautiful place with our precious rainbow baby who will be here in the spring. She was very much with me on our wedding day, (morning sickness and all) but we cannot wait to finally share this treasure of a place with her, see the beauty and wonder through her eyes and make new memories as a family. She will only ever see the whales were they belong, wild and free."
