From the Bride and Groom: "The start of a new year can mean so much for people around the world, whether it be this year’s new diet or just the right time to knock out what’s been on your bucket list, it’s a time of new beginnings. January of 2019 proved to be just that for Brianna and me, a time for new beginnings. Attending a planning meeting for an upcoming short-term mission trip, Brianna and I would meet for the first time. Walking in ten minutes late, Brianna caught my eye and so began my pursuit of finding out more about this cute Aggie girl who has a heart for God’s people. (I called one of my best friends after this meeting telling her about this amazing Aggie guy I'd be working with on the trip...little did I know I'd continue to call her to tell her about this amazing guy!) A week later we drove to Reynosa, Mexico along with several friends for a week-long medical mission trip. (I was totally smitten with Tyler but didn't think there was anyway we'd be more than just friends...until the border crossing. I was mildly freaking out driving across the border and I looked in my side mirror at Tyler in his truck behind me and he gave me the sweetest, reassuring wink. I think it was at this point I knew I was going to fall head over heels for this man) Bri was quickly recruited to the dental unit where she would perform various dental surgeries and I was recruited to the vision team where I would perform vision tests for boys and girls to get them their first pair of glasses. It was during this time our friendship was formed and really took off. I made sure to sit by her every night during card games where we discovered our similar sense of humor and incredible competitiveness. We joined forces to have a better chance at winning, as Texas A&M taught us, it isn’t cheating it’s corroborating. A week of serving and fun drew to an end and we returned back to Austin, but I knew our friendship was just getting started. After returning home, I made a point of letting Bri know I would like to take her out and get to know her better. She made me work hard for those times together, but I got my first clue she may be interested when she mysteriously fell sick for one of her work shifts. Oddly enough when I picked her up, she seemed just fine. After a few more formal dates and meeting her parents, I got the chance to ask Brianna to by my girlfriend on February 14th, 2019. (In honor of our goofiness and competitiveness we made a bet on our first official date to Via 313. Long story short, he ended up having to take a shot of ranch. To this day, I don't think he looks at ranch the same) I knew that night, this was not the last important question I would be asking her. The Engagement Over the following months, Bri and I explored life together. We even got our first puppy, Duke Wayne! (Who is now a year old and about 100lbs) We met family and friends, we took a few trips, and a bond was developed that God clearly had His hand in. Knowing I had found the one, I did what any smart man would do, I bought a big diamond!! On October 13th, I got the chance to give her that diamond and ask her that important question similar to the one of February 14th. After getting her parents and brothers blessing (It was the sweetest thing when he told me he had talked to both of my older brothers...the middle brother gave him permission to marry me only two weeks after we were officially bf/gf), I took a knee on top of the Pennybacker Bridge Overlook (after having the perfect cover story to get me to the top of the overlook with a nice dress and heels on...I had no idea!!) and asked Brianna Kathleen Wilson to be my bride. Many tears and smiling muffled a soft yes and I knew, I had just been made the luckiest man in Austin, Tx.
