Wedding Date on May 21, 2021

From the Couple: Brandon says: We met online and went on our first date in Dec. 2017 at Aixios in Brookside. We always joke that Ronnie was late and I was on the phone. Every 3 months or so, we do all-day dates to spend quality time together. Our last all-day date (pre-covid) was on our anniversary in 2019. After dinner, we stopped by Union Station where I had planned my proposal. After I proposed (while crying), Ronnie also pulled out a ring and proposed too. We had both planned to do it the same night. I planned a surprise engagement party after at Tiki Cat with all of our close friends and family. This was a big surprise for Ronnie. Ronnie Says: We totally met on a hookup app (Grindr or Scruff or what not). There is no shame in the needs of two attractive men. I truly avoided talking to Brandon for the longest time because his picture was of him as a blonde (which was creepy), then he uploaded a new picture from a recent photo shoot he had and I was like, "Damn boy, shoot your shot". So I did. He didn't reject me immediately, but he totally had a life outside our internet romance. So it took us some time to meet. We met in Brookside at a French Bistro. He isn't wrong, I was late, but come on, what else did he have going on. Truly nothing. When I arrived he had forgotten all about the date because he was deep into his AMC call. You know the traditional, "let's pretend I am not interested, straightaway" approach. He told me that he had children and if that would be a problem, I calculated the risk there and decided to move forward - without alcohol. At the end, I got left with the check (hahaha - I offered to pay) and he scooted out. We both were under the assumption that the other person was not interested, but turns out...I AM IRRESISTIBLE. Fast forward to some of the most romantic pieces of our story. Our second date was in Westport at Gambals. I asked him to come to trivia to show him how smart I was. Turns out, he is wayyyyyy smarter then me and I held it against him until...well...I will let you know when I let it go. That night he decided to lean in and go for that kiss. I did not refused this beautiful hunk of man and let any standard that I had, go. (Hint: I don't have many). First Kiss. Check. Let's keep moving forward, let me set the scene, Shawnee Mission - Sharks billiard hall. This is where we come to play darts with each other. We both enjoy the time. He has gotten increasingly better, I have maintained my low skill levels. Loser always has to take a shot and I know I am going to lose, but I like to drink....really a win-win. Well, late December of when we met, this is where we came and talked through what the rules of our relationship are. We decided that hoeing around wouldn't be ideal (although fun) and we would just hoe each other. Bahaha. I am going to trademark that. So sadly, I had to let all my side hoes know that I could not longer have play dates because my DILF obsession turned into something serious. Commitment. Check. We continue to move forward and we find ourselves at Buzzard Beach in Westport. Now if you have never been there, please know that you are not missing out on much. This classy joint is barely holding on to their license. It is dingy, gross, sticky, smelly, over-crowded and perfect for a pair of lovers. Prior to us coming here (weeks) I could tell that Brandon was getting to the "I Love You" stage. Whoa, Whoa Whoa. I was over stimulated by this thought and intervened with a kabosh before he said it before I was ready. I told him to hold off because I am not ready. It could have been the lighting, the smell of arm pit, or the elderly dude hacking his lung up at the pool table, but love was in the air. We moved over to the pinball machines and that is where I laid my truth on him. I told him I loved him, then I told the vodka, the bartender, this lady person who looked like a good person, then the bar. I loved all of them. JK, but I did tell him. Love. Check. Let's continue down this whirl-wind of adventure. I bought his ring 1-year prior to us getting engaged. I thought that he had a plan, but I was not sure. I had thought about how I was going to propose to him many times, but nothing seem to work out. We travelled to Disney World, his favorite place in the world and was going to propose on It's a Small World (his favorite). Well when we went to get on the ride, it was broken for our stay there. Then we went to his college town and he showed me some spots on campus that were important to him. I asked him if he wanted to get out and walk to them, he declined. He truly just didn't want me up in his life forever. He knew. I know he knew, but he like to feel powerful when he rejects me. I think it he really should see someone about this (jk). Well Dec. 6, 2019 rolls around and we are on an all-day date (please read his description above) and we do all of the fun things we do on this date and end up at Corvino for supper. We sat at the chef's table and had the perfect wine with dinner. I could tell he was getting red, but thought it was the wine. Truthfully he was just getting stressed. He convinced me to go to Union Station for a moment before our last stop, TikiCat (always our last stop). We get there and I had to use the restroom. I asked him if I could real quick and then it started........... He started sweating and his voice started to crack and he said, "If I don't do this now, I don't think I can.". So then he pulls me over to the tree and gets down on one knee and pulls out the bling and asks. Now please note, I think this is what he asked, I am not too confident because sound was coming out of his mouth, but it was through a filter of intense blubbering and sniffling. Imagine you just got a brand new car handed to you and you were crying from excitement. Now make it 10x more intense and sort of unattractive looking. That is what I was dealing with. But, I said yes of course. Then I had his ring in my pocket, because it was truly the best day to get engaged and got down and proposed to him. I think he is still considering it. I will need to put a follow-up meeting on his calendar to see where he is at. Engaged. Check. We finish up the evening at TikiCat. When I get there they take us to our normal seats and I see a friend of his there. I thought it was ironic that she booked the spot the same night. Well, turns out that 20 of our closest friends were there to celebrate this engagement. Never have I ever had someone design a party and I not know anything about it. It was a true shock for amazement. This really led to some deep conversations with my friends about trust and deception. So, I sadly had to get rid of all of them because of their lies and deceit. But, what did I gain and what did I lose? Engagement Party. Check. We planned our wedding on 5/21/21 because it is easy to remember. Wedding. No check. This is where you come in. So come on in, sit down and get ready for a party.
