This wedding was probably one of the most beautiful and sentimental weddings I've ever filmed. The Brides mother passed away from breast cancer 8 years ago and Bailee wore her mother's dress in her honor. She also surprised her father during their father/daughter dance with a song of her mother singing and then had her other two siblings join in. There was definitely not a dry eye in the room to see the loving family embrace while hearing their dearly departed angel sing. Please read on to hear the story of how Bailee & Curtis met with the words of our bride.
"Once Upon a Time, I was obsessed with this kid who I would see at every single football game I went to. He played football with my best friend's older brother. Every single time I would have my eye on this one kid, #99. I was only 6 or 7 at the time and I had been going to these cheer camps with all of my friends. We decided that we would cheer a little bit for these boys. Conveniently, my best friend's mom had gotten the assignment of halftime snacks and of course, I was the first to volunteer. That Saturday morning, at Pine View High School, I almost died of excitement. This was my chance! Long story short, I didn't get the courage to even talk to him, but he did touch my hand when he grabbed the Capri-Sun out of my hand and ran off. And I freaked out.
Fast forward about three years later, in 5th grade, I was stoked to go to a birthday party at Anti Gravity. I had only been there once before. Pizza and dodgeball was my kind of day back then. And of course, I noticed this kid in a red shirt with black shorts (with a red stripe down the side). I was really nervous to do this, but I went to his team and we ended up winning. We were quite a team! I remember when I turned to go say "good game" he was gone, along with his friend. I was a little disappointed, but I shrugged it off and had a really fun time with my friends.
Four years later, during the summer of '16, I got invited to go to mudding with some guy friends of mine. I grabbed my friend Jess and off we went. That night, a green dodge got stuck. Man, was that the funniest thing in the world! That was my first time hanging out with all of our friends at the same time and it was a little awkward too because I recognized someone... Once I was introduced to Curtis, I knew I had met him somewhere but I couldn't place it. Over many glances, I finally realized that he was the anti-gravity and football kid I had liked so long ago! I still couldn't work up the nerve to talk to him. At the beginning of that school year, one of us was seeing another while the other wasn't. This happened until the middle of October. He ended up adding me on snapchat and I waited for weeks for him to say something to me. At least a "hey", but nope, not a single word. He was always the first person to watch my stories. One day, I thought to myself, "What can it hurt? He'd be a good friend to have around if he's not interested." So, I messaged him, "So are you always going to be the first to look at my stories but never talk to me?". And of course, he was confused and said that he does that because he’s bored at work. From then on out, we became inseparable. We hung out for the first time at Freddy's, went stargazing, and were constantly watching movies . He officially asked me to be his girlfriend on 12/20/2016, but, we go by our third date 12/5/2016 because that's when all of our friends told us it was official. Eventually, I told him this. His response was that I stalked him? Psh. " -Bailee (Bride)
