"Our love story is simple yet unexpected. We grew up knowing each other, not only because we live in a small town, but Matthew and my brother Grant, were best friends. As we both got older, we both took each other into consideration and never acted on it. Matthew always considered me “off limits” because I was his best friends’ little sister, I was a line you just don’t cross. ;) For me, I only knew a few things about him, he was in the Air Force, and (I thought) in a serious relationship. So, to me he was also of course “off-limits”. Once Matthew came back from deployment and started coming around on weekends we began to notice each other. I never thought much about it much because at this point I swore off the male species. Being 20 years old (at the time), trying to find a decent guy was like winning the lottery. I just didn’t get my hopes up or as Matthew would say, “I was just keeping it cool”. But, one thing lead to another and we started hanging out. Again, being in the mind set of “don’t get too close” and wanting to keep things between us.. until I knew his real intentions. (Keep in mind, this was probably the second time we spent just the two of us.) Matthew insisted on telling my brother, but in my mind I’m thinking that’s an awful idea. I’m unsure what this is myself, I have a very protective brother, and not to mention he’s your best friend. Sounds crazy and overwhelming, but Matthew INSISTED. So, I let him do his thing and decided he’ll get the heat of it all if it does south. ;) Joke’s completely on me because things went totally different than I expected. My brother was more than fine with it, in his head he couldn’t pick a better guy than Matthew. His intentions were and to this day are so pure. Things just magically happened with us. Neither one of us really planned it or expected it. It was just a fantasy we thought about once or twice at the mention of each other’s names. Not to sound cliché, but the rest is history. But, on a less lighter note we both recently realized that we were more than just destined to be together. God knew exactly what he was doing because my brother, Grant passed away last year. Matthew lost a best friend and I lost my brother. In the wildest way we were definitely meant to be. I know we both could agree we have no clue how we would get through each day without each other. Again, our story sounds simple yet unexpected. We didn’t plan any of this at all, it simply just happened. God has so much more in store for us, more than we ever could have imagined."
