As an Event Planner at Meadow Brook Hall, I couldn't help but dream about my big day. After years of planning over 150 other Brides big days, it wasn't until July 2017 that I decided to join the dating app Bumble and ended up meeting the love of my life. In November 2018, Andrew's Mom asked if we could take Christmas card photos at Meadow Brook Hall. I agreed, we got all dressed up, went to Meadow Brook Hall, and arrived and saw my family there, too! We walked to the beautiful bridge, and immediately Andrew got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife! A professional photographer even jumped out of a bush and captured the moment. It was such an amazing day! Now it was time to wedding plan, and it only made sense to come full circle and have it at one of Metro Detroit's most premier venues, the place I've called my second home for the last five years, and the place Andrew asked me to spend forever with him. So on August 16, 2019, we said our vows in front of 150 of our closest friends and family at the most spectacular venue that means so much to us. Our favorite part of the day was the ceremony. Our Officiant Nichole Bertucci performs such beautiful ceremonies that are intimate and personal, so we were so excited that she would be a part of our day. It was the first moment we got to see all of our guests together, be present in the beautiful gardens of Meadow Brook Hall, and exchange our vows to one another. We also loved seeing everything that we worked so hard on, come together. If I could give any Bride advice it would be to buy a second dress (if you have an outdoor venue)! After only a few hours of walking through the grass and gardens of Meadow Brook Hall, my dress was quite destroyed on the bottom. It was also very heavy! We also wish we would’ve had our photographer and videographer stay longer. We only had them stay for one hour of dancing, but the real party and fun didn’t start until a little after they already left. My Dad (FOB) even surprised everyone, including myself, by playing the drums with the band. It was so much fun to see him get up there and rock out to Journey, Don’t Stop Believing! Luckily, it’s captured on cell phones by many of our guests! Something that was SO important to us was enjoying every moment, and letting it sink in. We did not want to feel rushed, or the day to be chaotic because we knew then that it would fly by! By having a very detailed day of timeline, a small bridal party, and hiring reputable vendors, our day was completely calm and enjoyable! Not only as a bride, but also an event planner, don’t sweat the small stuff and TRUST YOUR VENDORS! They are professionals for a reason. August 16, 2019 was truly the best day of our lives, and we couldn't have made it happen without our team of vendors and the team at Meadow Brook Hall.
