Amanda and Ezra first met during their freshmen year of college while on a President’s Leadership Class trip to the Sam Noble Museum of Natural History. They were goofing around in front of the dinosaur exhibit and quickly became best friends soon after. As they continued their education at the University of Oklahoma, they discovered there was more to their relationship than just a friendship. As they began dating the summer before their senior year of college, they began to fall in love. After graduation, Amanda moved to Fort Worth to pursue her dream of joining Teach for America while Ezra stayed in Oklahoma to create a documentary. Long distance truly made the heart grow fonder for this couple, and after a year and a half of driving back and forth for visits, Ezra decided to propose. While Amanda was visiting Ezra over Christmas break, they went on their annual Christmas date that they opt for instead of presents. After walking down memory lane at the Sam Noble Museum of Natural History, they stopped at Classic 50’s Drive-In in Norman and then went on a carriage ride in Oklahoma City, where Ezra gave Amanda a photo album of pictures with reasons he loves her on the back. They went ice skating and to dinner, and then into the Myriad Botanical Gardens. Ezra then pulled out a “never getting married” contract he had written when his parents divorced and gave it to Amanda saying that the contract was now null because he wanted to marry her. He got down on one knee and asked Amanda to be his wife! Their June wedding ceremony took place at Southwind Hills and overflowed with colors of merlot, gold, green and ivory, making their dream of having a rustic yet classic wedding come to life. Amanda looked beautiful in a vintage-inspired Stella York gown as she walked down the aisle. One of the couple’s favorite moments was the first look, which put both of their excited nerves at ease. They had their first dance to “Thinking Out Loud” by Ed Sheeran, and the guests enjoyed a beautiful and delicious cake from The Sugar Plum Shoppe. Following the big day, Amanda and Ezra honeymooned in Maui, Hawaii. The happy couple now lives in Long Beach, California.
