Wedding Date on Aug 24, 2019

Alex and I starting dating in 2011. We welcomed our daughter, Ava, in DEC 2014. Alex proposed the night before Thanksgiving in 2017. Alex knew that the holidays are always a very stressful time for me and convinced me that he wanted to start a new tradition before the holidays and take me out to dinner. The dinner location was a surprise but as we got closer to downtown STL, I was able to guess Ruth's Chris. He has reserved a corner room with a perfect view of the Arch. Dinner went perfectly but as we starting to wind down and order dessert, he started shaking his legs and his hands were really cold. I remember asking if he was okay and he said he was just cold from sitting next to the window. He got up to go to the "bathroom" which I later found out he was giving the waitress his phone. When they brought in the desert, the plate had candles lit and the said " Will you marry me" in strawberry sauce. When I looked over at Alex, he was down on one knee with a ring made of my late grandma's diamonds asking me to be his wife. It was PERFECT! We then went to the hotel bar where family and friends were waiting and surprised me.
