Wedding Date on Nov 3, 2019

My husband and I met as a dare at a local country line dancing bar. I was going through a breakup so my friends took me out. My girlfriends were very innocent and had never had a serious relationship and were very shy. They were checking out guys across from the bar and I told them to talk to them. They insisted they couldn’t and didn’t know what they’d say. I kept encouraging them and told them it’s super easy and just be yourself. Well they got defensive and said if it was so easy “Why don’t you do it?” So I told them to pick someone, they pointed to a guy on the other side of the bar. I wasn’t interested in talking to anyone, but now he is my husband. We have since had 3 boys and just celebrated our 5 year vow renewal November 3, 2019. We loved our first wedding for the symbolic reasons, but it wasn’t our dream wedding. When he left for an 18 month unaccompanied orders over seas (Navy), it was important to us to celebrate our 5 years when he came back and celebrate all we’ve been through. The most important thing this time around was that it was about us and not our family. I am obsessed with the film Titanic, soot was once I found out we could get married on the replica of the grande staircase I knew we had to get married there. We tried so hard to please everyone our first wedding and it made the day less about us and more about our family. At the end of the day marriage, weddings, vow renewals are about the love between the two of you. Don’t sacrifice what you want for other people. You don’t want to look back and have regrets because you sacrificed what you wanted for others. Now we had our dream wedding just the two of us. The way we dreamed it and we couldn’t be happier.
