Wedding Date on Nov 7, 2020

This is a different kind of love story, one I never pictured or imagined being written this way. As every little girl dreams of her wedding day, one of the most important and special moment is the walk down the aisle for her dad to give her away. Earlier this year my dad was diagnosed with stage 4 throat cancer and given only months to live. As a single, 24 year old girl, I knew that moment might not be possible. I was devastated thinking of the earth without him and the days to come that he wouldn’t be able to be a part of. My family came together and had this crazy idea to make my “pre wedding” day possible. So I bought the dress, picked a date and experienced one of the most beautiful days filled with love, tears and memories. We had a “first look”, father-daughter dance and even popped the champagne. We were all overwhelmed with emotions. The evening was captured by video and pictures that I hold forever hold dear to my heart. Little did we know the day my dad practiced “giving me away” was exactly a month from the day we gave him to The Lord. I am so glad we got to share this day together. My heart is to share this with others in my shoes to be able to create this moment as well. The love between a father and daughter is special and unique. I will forever miss him.
