Nick wanted to marry Lydia immediately. Actually, when he first met her when Lydia walked into his workplace he returned to tell him coworkers that they woman who just left would be his wife someday. Lydia didn't take much convincing. Their wedding at Paradise cove was rainy in the morning but the skies cleared up just in time to say their vows and walk down the aisle as husband and wife.
