Valentine's Day Love Stories

If you're a Harry Potter fan, then these champagne flutes are probably the best thing you've seen today. And just wait 'til you see their cake topper!

From The Bride:

Matt and I met while we were both stationed at Tyndall Air Force Base in Florida. We both worked out at the same Crossfit gym, and the first time I saw him and spoke to him, I was so intimidated by the way he looked and performed in the gym. He seemed way too good for me, and I told a mutual friend of ours from the gym, Katy (who ended up being our officiant). She ended up setting us up on a double date with her and her now husband, and we began dating from there. A month after we became “official”, he received orders for a deployment in Saudi Arabia. It was then we had to decide whether or not we wanted to stay together. This was the turning point in our relationship where we both knew if we stuck together, we would be together for the rest of our lives. Luckily we did!

Matt and I are not Valentine’s Day people. Our first ‘VDay’ was spent while he was deployed in Saudi Arabia, our second had us eating Chinese take out while watching reality TV, and so during the planning process for our wedding, February 14th wasn’t even on our radar. However, after meeting with our vendors and chatting about available dates, something about Valentine’s Day felt whimsical and ironic for the two of us. Here are two people, deeply unattached to the iconic meaning behind Valentine’s Day, yet both were drawn to idea of it. What a perfect day it was too, as it landed on President’s Day weekend, making in a three day affair for our family and friends. It’s also fun to point out another reason why February 14th, 2016 is such an important date: our photographer went into labor that day, and had to call on another photographer friend in the area to cover it. To some brides, this might have been the end of the world, but to me, I thought ‘What a great story!!’ Not only did we get married that day, our initial photographer and friend brought in another life which seemed all too perfect for the occasion.
