The first thing you'll hear when you watch Sarah and Ethan's video is the voice of Sarah's dad as he explains what his daughter and Ethan's love means to their closest family and friends. Along with stunning shots of the bride, her father, and the couple's first look, the opening sequence is intimate in a way that makes you feel like you've been best friends with the couple for years. Basically, have your box of tissues on standby. Watch the amazing film from Thompson Pictures below, and then read our interview with the bride to find out how the she (and her mom!) planned the perfect day!
The Love Story:
Ethan and I met abroad in Sydney Australia. After being friends for many years we each had an “aha!” moment and began dating, and as they say…the rest is history! We planned our wedding from afar with the invaluable help of our wedding planner and my mom!
You and Ethan met abroad, how fun! What brought you both to Australia?
We both did a Boston University study abroad program in college. We both chose to study abroad in Australia because of its beauty, culture, and weather.
Do you remember your \"aha\" moment? Was it anything in particular?
I don’t know if there ever was a certain moment, but a strong feeling that developed over time. The way he blended so well with my family and friends was really what made me realize that this was it, this is real. My family is everything to me, so to see someone become a part of it so effortlessly was a no-brainer.
Your wedding send off was pretty epic — were the trumpets planned?!
No — the trumpets weren't planned at all! Ethan and I wanted to do a last private dance together before the send off so the trumpets helped move everyone out of the reception space so we could share our moment together since people didn't want to leave the dance floor!
How did you find your wedding videographer and what made you choose them?
Thompson Pictures, our videographer, was suggested to us by our wedding planner. We saw they had great reviews, watched some of their videos, and met with them. Once we met with them and saw some of their work we knew they were exactly what we were looking for to help us remember our special day.
What was the most unexpected part of your wedding day?
How emotional we felt seeing each other for the first time during our first look. You think about what your wedding day will be like and prepare and plan as much as you can, but being in that moment is just the most amazing thing I have ever experienced.
What was your favorite part of your wedding journey?
I loved planning a wedding. All of the details and thoughtfulness was very enjoyable to me as a bride. It was even more special to be able to share that with Ethan and our families. We are already close with our families, but being able to plan such an important and monumental moment in our lives together with them made us even closer!
What's your #1 piece of advice for future brides?
Stay organized and ahead of the timeline. We had a very stress-free planning experience as we stayed ahead of timelines and remained organized throughout our entire journey, trying to not forget a single detail. The same advice goes for the day of: Give yourself extra time during your day and take those private moments to take deep breaths and reflect on this meaningful and special day with your new husband!
Anything else our viewers should know?
It was the best day of our lives and we feel honored to be chosen to share it with everyone!
