This best man got it right. Sarah and Sam had a summer fling in high school, but drifted apart soon after. Once they reconnected years later, they realized that the bond they created in high school had lasted them through the last decade. They got engaged just eight months into officially dating, and now they're married.

From The Bride:

We are half-way high school sweethearts who had a summer fling and then spent years apart; eventually coming back to one another just at the perfect time. In high school, Sam used to pretend to be a horrible math student just so I could tutor him, and I found every reason to be the one to tutor him. Getting engaged after just eight months of dating felt to us like a decade of memories and a bond already long ago made. The years we spent apart, we both felt that infinite and constant desire for what we could have been, and we have finally found out.
