Love Story Of The Day: Four Years Long Distance Had Nothing On Their Love

When Carmen and Paul met during a summer internship in 2011, they had no idea that would lead to four years long distance in six different states! In the words of the bride, though, \"distance had nothin'\" on them :).

From The Bride:

\"In May of 2011, we met through our internships at Horseshoe Bay Golf Club in Egg Harbor, WI. Paul was working in the golf department and I was working in events. I met him the night I got into town and immediately became more excited about the summer ? After a few weeks went by and he barely spoke to me, I became uninterested. (Later I learned he’s just a shy guy!) That changed one night after work. Those of us living in the employee farm house all went out onto the dock to hang out. At some point, Paulie sneakily put his arm around me. My interest in him immediately resurfaced! About a month later we started dating. At the end of the summer, we decided to continue our relationship and see if we could make long distance work. We had NO IDEA we would be in a long distance relationship for so long – 4 years long. From Wisconsin, to Nebraska, to Indiana, to Virginia, to Maryland, to North Carolina, distance had nothin’ on us. I finally made a move to Bristol, VA in late 2015 so we could be together. Four months after the move (and a day after Paulie’s 27th birthday), we got engaged. Paulie planned the surprise with two of our dearest friends (Haley & Jeremy), a bottle of champagne, and a gorgeous mountain view. Sunset Rock in Chattanooga, TN will always be a special place for us. At the end of May 2016, we moved to Nashville, TN together. Now, four months after the October 2016 wedding, we are thoroughly enjoying married life and are excited to spend forever together!\"
