Love Story Of The Day: From High School Best Friends To Husband And Wife

Marrying your best friend is the actual dream — and that's exactly what happened with Martha Douglas and Mark. They met in high school and were best friends all four years, until the end of senior year, when they realized that maybe they were meant to be something more. They spent the first year of college trying to figure out what those feelings meant, until, in the words of the bride, it \"finally clicked.\" The rest is history!

From The Bride:

\"We met on the first day of high school and were just best friends until the end of senior year when we started to have feelings for one another. Mark and I were always there for one another. When we went off to different colleges, we decided we would never lose touch. All of his/my best guy friends went to UGA with me and he was playing baseball in Atlanta at a private college. It wasn’t long until we were back and forth on our feelings for each other and it finally clicked half way through college. The rest is history! We were best friends for 5 years before we decided to make it official and we’ve been together ever since. Mark proposed on the beach at Amelia Island where his family has gone since he was born on Memorial Day Weekend 2015 before he left for an MBA internship in NYC for the summer. My parents were there waiting as a surprise! We are each other’s partners, soulmate and very best friend. Our love is unconditional and we couldn’t be happier that after 7 years of dating / half our lives of knowing each other, we have started our lives together after moving from Atlanta to New York City in June 2016!\"
