Love Story Of The Day: A Long Engagement Led To The Summer Wedding Of Their Dreams

There are many practical reasons to have a long engagement, from budget management to planning to securing your favorite vendors. In Chelsea and Josh's case, they knew they wanted a summer wedding. So instead of rushing to their big day, they took their time (17 months to be exact!), and planned a stunning event that we're sure they, and all of their guests, will remember forever -- and be able to relive through this amazing video by Shannon Talamo Films.

And can we just add, their officiant's message is on point!

From The Bride:

Josh and I met in college. We both went to LSU; he was in SAE (fraternity) and I was a cheerleader. One of my cheerleading friends was dating one of his fraternity brothers, so that is how we met and started dating in 2011. We have been together for almost 6 years. We got engaged in January of 2015 in Costa Rica! Josh’s family told us to take a picture together one night, so as we were posing for the picture, that is when he turned to me and began his proposal. Josh’s family captured it all on camera. It was awesome and totally caught me off guard! We had a long engagement (about 17 months – and we LOVED being engaged!) We knew we wanted a summer wedding, and the summer of 2015 would have been too quick after a January proposal, so we waited until June of 2016. It was awesome to take our time to plan and pick out everything for the big day.
