Within 19 weeks from the time they got engaged, Jordan and Kezia bought a house, left their jobs, and got married. Talk about a whirlwind few months! Not only does their woodland wedding look like a fairytale, it was the perfect venue for the couple. Both Jordan and Kezia love the woods, and Jordan proposed to Kezia in the woods near his childhood home! Their magical day featured food trucks, s’mores, festoon lighting, a Caribbean buffet, a silent disco and a sparkler exit. How did you meet and fall in love?

In January 2016, I met a guy on the street (Jordan) after I noticed him praying for someone. We began to speak and discovered we had a couple of mutual friends. As we parted ways, I turned to my friend and said “that’s my husband.”

Jordan was intrigued and added me on Facebook the day after, which led to messages back and forth and several coffee dates months later. Life happened; university demands, career changes and traveling, which meant we didn’t see each other properly for close to seven months. But we remained friends and had some contact here and there. In January 2017, we started to spend some time together and in March 2017 we started “courting,” wanting to prioritize friendship.

In May 2017, on his birthday, Jordan knew that I was the girl he wanted to pursue and one day call wifey, and in July 2017 we made it official. In May 2018, Jordan proposed in his favorite woods where he spent a lot of time growing up, incorporating all of my favorite things into one proposal: fairy lights, candles and sparklers.. at sunset.

Tell us how the proposal happened!

It was in the woods near where Jordan grew up and spent a lot of time. I love the woods and Jordan wanted to take me somewhere he spent a lot of time on his own to signify the start of never being on his own again. I had suspicions a proposal was coming soon and so Jordan spent the whole day throwing me off course by having a very normal day. No plans. No agenda. That evening there wasn’t much to do, and I suggested going for a walk in the woods, the same ones Jordan had planned the proposal in. As we were walking, we came to a big gate. As I went to open it, it lit up with fairy lights and a friend jumped from behind a bush with his camera, capturing the whole moment. Jordan went down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. After the tears stopped, we continued to walk up the path at sunset, and the woodland path was lined with tea light candles. We reached a clearing in the woods and turned to see our family jumping up and down with sparklers, Prosecco, and flowers!

Tell us about something that was creative or unique to your wedding.

The wedding was outdoors in the heart of Derbyshire, and was followed by a tipi reception complete with food trucks, s’mores, festoon lighting, a Caribbean buffet, a silent disco and a sparkler exit. We did a routine dance with the bridal party to the song “Candy.” We slept in wooden cabins in the national forest the night before, and had a big BBQ with the bridal party. Approximately 300 people from all over the world were in attendance. We also live streamed the ceremony so that family and friends oversees who couldn’t make it could be a part of the day. I lost my mother at 12, and a chair was left empty for her during the ceremony with a song sang after the legal marriage to honor who she was as a person.

Describe the moment from your wedding day that stands out to you the most.

The biggest moment that stood out to me was feeling completely and utterly myself throughout the whole day—no pretending, but simply authentic to who we are. Experiencing the love of others and the love in Puebla hearts for God, for each other and our guests, felt tangible.

How did you find your wedding dress? Who designed it and how did you know it was the one?

I went to an outlet store where you can walk away with your dress that day. I thought I knew what I wanted, but when trying that style on, I realized it wasn’t for me. I then found my dress and then designed my own alterations so it was unique to me. I hope to pass it on to another bride so they too can feel special.

What made your wedding feel extra special to you and your partner?

It was special to see the amount of people there and the support behind us, after pulling it all together in four months. To know we had created the day—it felt like it was ours. Not put on for us.

How did you find your filmmaker Solomon Rumney-Scriven and what made you choose them?

Our filmmaker is a friend and an incredibly talented guy. I knew that he would capture not on the day, but he would capture us, and our hearts. He captures real moments and authenticity and we love that. We didn’t want to put on a show, we wanted to tell our story.

What is your favorite moment from your wedding film?

I love that Solomon Rumney-Scriven captured Jordan’s face as I came out in my evening dress for our first dance.

Is there anything that stressed you out during the wedding planning process that you would tell other brides and grooms not to worry about?

Don't try to please everyone. It’s not possible and it’s tiring. I would encourage other bride’s and groom’s to do what they want and what makes them happy.

What do you think the \"secret sauce\" to your relationship is?

Honestly, it’s our faith in God and our desire to love each other the way God loves us—from a place of trust, purity, wholeness and selflessness.

What are your fave ways to spend a weekend together?

We love cuddling, haha. But truthfully, we love time with just the two of us, walking and dreaming about the future. But we also love people and love to host and create a place for family to happen. The weekend just needs to involve good food, honestly.

If you were to guess, how do you think you'll celebrate your one-year anniversary?

Eating. More eating! And somewhere away from everyone else, to spend quality time together.
