From The Bride:
On December 6, 2015, Holly and Ryan took a leap of faith and swiped right. After delivering an epic opener (“I think we have fireworks here – you got the spark?”) and teasing that she’d only have to change her name by four letters, Ryan somehow convinced Holly to let him take her to dinner. The cards were stacked against them from the outset – Holly had become very skeptical of online dating, and Ryan was too preoccupied with residency interviews to get too involved. They met outside of an Uptown Dallas restaurant and proceeded to have the best date of their lives. They spent the next 3 hours talking like old friends who had known each other forever. Holly texted one of her friends the next morning, “I may marry someone with the same September 2nd birthday as you;” coincidentally, Ryan texted one of his groomsmen, “I think I’m in love.”
Ryan really wanted to impress Holly for their second date and took her to a concert at South Side Ballroom, where George Ezra and James Bay were opening for Fall Out Boy. She still raves about that evening to this day and vividly recalls Ryan gazing into her eyes and asking, “Is this real life?” Over the next few months, they became best friends and spent as much time as possible together in between Ryan’s schooling and Holly’s work schedule. Ryan quickly began including Holly in his residency ranking decision and even asked her to accompany him on a second look visit to the program he ultimately ended up at.
It didn’t take long for Holly and Ryan to realize they were meant to be together. Some of their friends and family were amazed by how fast everything had progressed. One friend jokingly asked Ryan if he was madly in love or if Holly was knocked up. To this, Ryan just smiled and say “when you know, you know.”
With a background in event planning, Holly tirelessly planned the entire wedding with the help of her mother. She focused on every last detail, knowing that it is the little details that come together to make one amazing and memorable day.
