Wedding Date on Jul 27, 2019

We met on Matt’s 21st birthday, March 16, 2013. We were both juniors at the University of Rhode Island and had mutual friends who were dating, and hosting his birthday party. Matt says he was incredibly nervous to approach me, and when he did he used his infamous pick up line. “Hey that’s a nice freckle!”, as he pointed to a relatively large freckle that I have on my shoulder. The rest of the night we spent chatting about our mutual love for Harry Potter and I couldn’t believe his last name was actually Cute! Matt planned the most perfect and intimate proposal. It was Friday, December 29, 2017; Matt had told me to keep that night open because he wanted to take me out for a nice date night. We frequently surprise each other and plan special date nights so it wasn’t unusual but I was hopeful this particular date would be extra special. We drove to Newport, which was my first clue, as it has always held a special place in our hearts. We had the most incredible dinner at Castle Hill overlooking the Newport Bridge. The waiters kept bringing us special samples and I kept thinking, wow this is so great do they do this for everyone? Little did I know, Matt had tipped the restaurant off that tonight was a special night. After dinner we were driving on ocean drive near the bluffs overlooking the water and Matt pulls that car over and asks me to get out. He took me to the same spot where he asked me 5 years previously to be his girlfriend and got down on one knee and asked me to spend forever with him. He said the sweetest things that I still can’t remember because I was just so incredibly happy. I of course said YES! It was so simple but so perfect for us!
