From The Bride:

Chad and Courtney fell in love hard and fast – marrying only 1 year and 3 days after their first date!

The two were set up by a married couple (the wife worked with Courtney & the husband worked with Chad). Chad contacted Courtney and after a few weeks of talking over social media, he finally asked her out on a date.

Their first date consisted of playing with Chad’s new 6 week old chocolate lab puppy, grilling, drinks, & hours of non-stop conversation at Chad’s new home. After many dates and time spent together, the two attended Courtney’s twin sister’s wedding less than a month later. That night Chad looked at Courtney and said, “I’m going to marry you one day.”

Five months later on Thanksgiving Day, Courtney went on a walk with her twin sister and mom at Edwin Warner Park in Nashville, TN. About a quarter of a mile into the walk she saw an orange & white University of TN blanket (the same one they used for concert & picnic dates during the summer). Chad turned the corner and after many sweet words, got down on one knee and proposed.

Chad and Courtney quickly got to wedding planning and set the date for the beginning of summer (June 9, 2017). They decided to have a beach wedding right outside of Courtney’s family condo in Destin, FL. Chad’s second cousins are ordained ministers & happily agreed to officiate the wedding, being sure to include both Courtney’s Catholic traditions & Chad’s Protestant traditions. The ceremony included many different Christian elements – including an 8 ft. cross with flowers, a foot washing ceremony, & communion served to guests by the bride and groom. These elements were very important to the couple & created a very spiritual & personal ceremony.

After the ceremony, guests headed 20 minutes down the road to The Beach House Restaurant in San Destin, FL. The venue was very budget friendly – including tables, chairs, food, DJ, etc. They even let Courtney’s mom bring in a homemade wedding cake (using her favorite strawberry recipe – it was a hit with the guests!). The cake was only one of the many DIY elements in this wedding. Other DIY crafts included the programs, water bottles labeled “Some People are Worth Melting For”, ceremony cross, all flower arrangements (minus the bride’s bouquet), wedding signs, etc.

The reception venue was not only budget friendly, but GORGEOUS! The reception took place on an outside deck overlooking the emerald waters. It even included a personal pool & bar for guests. To help incorporate their missing pups, Courtney and Chad added signature drinks to the bar. “Fergie’s Tuttie Fruity” (a fruity drink named after Courtney’s French Bulldog) & “Loosey Goosey’s Lonewolf Lemonade” (a bourbon drink named after Chad’s Chocolate Lab) were very popular among guests.

Courtney and Chad LOVE to dance together and planned to have the DJ play a variety of songs, but had a very special moment when Chad’s friend sang and played guitar for their first dance (Chris Stapleton’s “More of You”). The rest of the night consisted of lots of dancing, drinking, & the beautiful ocean view.

The night ended with a sparkler exit, where guests decided to share in Chad’s patriotic love and surprised the couple by singing “God Bless America” as they walked through. The two laughed and laughed. T

Chad & Courtney both say it was the best day of their lives & would relive it everyday if they could!
