I grew up in a little seaside village called Jamestown, just outside of Newport RI. I studied Business and Marketing at the University of Rhode Island, and shortly after I took a plunge into the events and hospitality world as a lead designer for an esteemed event firm. I spent many years honing my skills on how to marry beautiful design with infrastructure and site logistics; building out production teams, engineering lighting and floral structures, custom-crafting backdrops and dance floors - you name it, I did it! I find inspiration everywhere - at the farmer’s market, local restaurants, and of course exploring the coastline of New England. I have an incredibly high attention to detail and I get most excited about translating your wedding vision into a reality!

Sarah Crowell

Newport, RI

 feel lucky to say that I was born and raised in Ipswich, MA, a small coastal town north of Boston. The beach and the ocean have always been a huge part of my life and a source of inspiration. Prior to joining the Mavinhouse team, I studied Recreation Management Policy and Event Management at UNH; spent 10 memorable years managing weddings and Private Events at the historic Crane Estate; and from there became the Director of Sales and Events for the largest catering company on The North Shore. Needless to say, if you are hosting a classic coastal or a rustic New England wedding then you’ve come to the right place! Throughout the last 15 years, I have had the pleasure of planning and executing hundreds of weddings. Whether you are choosing a traditional wedding venue, a farm in the countryside, or your family’s home by the ocean - I have seen and done it all! Still to this day, my favorite part is seeing our plans come to life for a seamless and unforgettable day. I grew up in Newport, Rhode Island, where my fascination with weddings all began. My first job was with a regional wedding magazine in Akron, Ohio where I worked as an editor and content stylist while also assisting a local wedding planner. Since returning to New England, I have worked in sales and event management for a large catering company, while also working as a freelance wedding planner. In eight years, I've planned hundreds of weddings, corporate events, and social gatherings. I excel at logistics and love working with my clients to bring their vision to life. Outside of work, you can find me hiking in the White Mountains to complete the 4,000 footers

Liz Pruitt

Boston, MA

I attended Johnson & Wales University where I got a degree in (are you ready for this? It's a mouthful) Events, Sports, and Entertainment Management with a concentration (yes! There was also a concentration!) in International itality Operations. After attending school in North Carolina, I began my career in a sales and event management position with a prestigious catering company in Boston. Later, I moved to Brooklyn, NY where I continued to work in catering and then for a prominent venue in Manhattan where I helped to build marketing strategies and create better-working systems within the businesses. After helping to launch Mavinhouse Events in the New York region, I began to crave a return to the coastal New England life that I know and love. I made the move to Portland, Maine, where I now call home. I've worked on hundreds of weddings and events in all types of environments. I know the ins and outs of weddings, the nitty gritty and not-so-pretty stuff that really makes the whole show work. I excel at logistics, but the design aspect keeps me excited.
