The Love Story

How did you meet and fall in love?

Mitch and I met four years ago through a mutual friend. We met when we went on vacation to Lake Havasu in Arizona with our friends and became friends. Mitch always tells me how he fell in love at first sight but waited for the right opportunity to tell me which was two years later. Two years later, again at Lake Havasu, Mitch was trying to get my attention but I was oblivious to his attempts. 1 week later, while we were at our friends house, I finally saw something different in Mitch. He finally had his opportunity to tell me how he feels and took me on a date. It included a day at the beach, shopping, picking up his dog from the groomers and dinner at Orange Hill, which has the best view of Orange County at night. After dinner, he took me off-roading to look at the stars. All I could boast about was how it was so easy with him and we just \"fit\" each other perfectly. Between more dates and adventures, I finally understood what people told me about finding true love: When you know you know. I never understood this until Mitch. However, Mitch already knew how he felt about me since day one.

Tell us how the proposal happened.

On July 8th, 2016, we again were on vacation at Lake Havasu, Mitch had a surprise. He planned, with all our friends and family, to propose at the same exact spot where we met three years prior. Like a true gentleman, he asked my parents and brother for permission to marry me. He had everything planned including making sure we have pictures and videos of the proposal. It was everything I could have wanted. It was at the same exact spot we met, with the most amazing background and a complete surprise. About 6 months after being engaged we started to think about our wedding. On a trip to Temecula to go wine tasting we came across Peltzer Winery. We were not looking for a venue but there was something about this place that seemed right. We asked if they have weddings there and ended up getting a tour of the whole property. We fell in love with it and decided that was the perfect spot to get married. Peltzer already had many decorations we loved. It was outside, had the rustic vibe and many old trucks around the property. We incorporated unique ideas about us into the wedding such as shot gun shell boutonnieres, car springs and driving down on the bed of the truck. Once the wedding day came, it was perfect even if it went by too quick. We had a cookies and milk bar, my mom made our wedding cake and we had a line dance instructor. All we could think about was how much fun we had and how our wedding was amazing.

The Wedding

Tell us about something that was creative or unique to your wedding.

One unique aspect of our wedding was that we designed an arch for the bed of our truck so that I could sit on the tailgate to be brought down in. Also, since Mitch enjoys working on cars we used car coil springs as part of our centerpieces.

Describe the moment from your wedding day that stands out to you the most.

One moment that stood out to was being able to have a first look with my dad, and then getting to see Mitch’s first look while walking down the aisle. For both of us, the speeches were super memorable—especially the anticipation about what was going to come out of their mouths!

How did you find your wedding dress? Who designed it and how did you know it was the one?

I found a company through Instagram called Grace Loves Lace. I knew it was the one because when I tried it on, it was perfect, and both my grandma and mom thought the same.

What made your wedding feel extra special to you and your partner?

We had a blast planning our wedding and at the wedding itself. It’s hard to explain, but we had so much fun just being us and with our friends and family.

How did you find your filmmaker and what made you choose them?

Our wedding photographer recommended her, and then we talked on the phone. She fit what we were looking for.

What is your favorite moment from your wedding film?

There’s not one moment I can say. The whole thing is amazing!

What do you think the \"secret sauce\" to your relationship is?

Being friends before a relationship and becoming best friends once we were an item.

Finally, tell us the No. 1 piece of wedding planning advice you wish you would have known.

We didn’t get much wedding planning advice, but we advise others to interview multiple people before making a choice to determine who fits with your needs and personality. It makes a huge difference when people understand you.
