Dog lovers everywhere are about to fall in love with Lisa and Dzung's gorgeous Houston wedding. Their super cute pup, Sansa, was one of the flower girls. 🐶🌸 In addition to a pet-friendly ceremony, Lisa and Dzung's unique lavender toss and milk tea station were a huge hit with guests. For tons more modern, rustic wedding inspiration, watch Lisa and Dzung's film by The Neskes below, and then read on for Lisa's best advice for future brides.

The Love Story

How did you meet and fall in love?

Two of my girlfriends set up a group dinner and left the seat in front of me open. I knew about the setup but he didn't. We hit it off, and later on he told me he knew he wanted to marry me that night.

Tell us how the proposal happened.

We road tripped with our dog from Texas to the Great Smokey Mountain National Park for a week of hiking and camping. On our last day, there we were, checking out an overlook with an incredible view and I was busy taking photos per usual. I turned when I heard my name and Dzung was kneeling with the ring and asked me to marry him.

The Wedding

Tell us about something that was creative or unique to your wedding.

We had a lavender toss at the end of our ceremony and it smelled amazing. We also had our favorite milk tea place cater (the line was longer than the open bar!).

Describe the moment from your wedding day that stands out to you the most.

Being surrounded by our friends and family was unforgettable, but we also enjoyed having our dog as one of the flower girls :)

How did you find your wedding dress? Who designed it and how did you know it was the one?

My dress was a sample by Alon Livne. I had tried on so many dresses and this was the only one that gave me a giddy feeling. Dzung's suit was custom-made for him.

What made your wedding feel extra special to you and your partner?

That some of our friends and family traveled from across the United States and out of the country for our wedding.

How did you find your filmmaker and what made you choose them?

I found The Neskes on a wedding blog and fell in love with their work. They were the only filmmakers that made me tear up over a stranger's wedding.

What is your favorite moment from your wedding film?

Coming down the aisle after the ceremony!

The Couple

What do you think the \"secret sauce\" to your relationship is?

Making each other laugh!

What are your fave ways to spend a weekend together?

Spending time with our dog outside and watching movies.

What do you like most about your partner?

Dzung loves to cook and I'm the lucky food-taster.

If you were to guess, how do you think you'll celebrate your one-year anniversary?

Travel somewhere different together.

What is your No. 1 piece of wedding planning advice.

It's not anyone else's wedding but your own.
