Jay is from Halifax, Nova Scotia. Alyssa is from Nashville, Tennessee. They met while Jay was studying abroad in Northern Ireland and Alyssa was visiting a friend overseas. Alyssa and her friend needed a place to stay in Ireland and were connected to Jay through friends of friends. Almost instantly, Jay and Alyssa knew that what they were experiencing was different and good. They agreed to continue to chase after one another between multiple countries in order not to miss what was happening. Eventually they ended up in a church on top of a hill in Nova Scotia where they were getting married and no longer had to date long distance.
