Irina Ivanov (Irina Lomova) sings Con Te Partirò by Andrea Bocelli (Time to Say Goodbye) at Elks Tower in Downtown Sacramento. A stunning #opera performance that took the breath away of all the audience at the wedding reception and especially the Bride’s Dad, Igor Lomov. Here is the story of how this epic production came to be. When Irina was 10 years old, her dad made her promise she would sing this song to him one day. This was his favorite song and it was his dream to see his daughter perform it. Since Irina’s dad was her first vocal coach, she never went on stage without his guidance and critique. He was a part of her every performance and made sure she performed up to his “standard.” As soon as Irina’s boyfriend, Alex Ivanov, proposed and the #wedding planning begun, Irina wanted to thank her parents in a special way. She wanted to give them something personal; something that they both could be proud of. Her dad was asking her to sing a song on her wedding, but for once, she wanted to relax and not stress on her big day. Besides how could singing be personal? She sang all the time at weddings so it would've felt just like any other wedding gig. Digging through old sheet music she stumbled upon her dad's favorite song, Time to say Goodbye (Andrea Bocelli - Con Te Partirò). She knew that if she attempted this song her dad would recognize every wrong note. There was just no way that she would have the guts to perform this song in front of the most intimidating judge in the world... dad. Hearing that she wouldn't be singing at her own wedding, he was hurt and disappointed. Finally Irina decided to give it a try. For the first time she rehearsed a song without her dad's help. Knowing how important this performance would be to her parents, this was the personal gift that she decided to dedicate. She felt indebted for all the time, and money they invested in her musical career so she knew this was the only way to surprise dad; with a promise she made when she was only 10. Knowing that he had high expectations it just had to be perfect. She didn't want to sing it with another instrumental track.
