And the award goes to…

We are so excited to be just DAYS away from our 2nd Annual Wedding Film Awards hosted at Lafayette with our partners B&H Photo Video! The Wedding Film Awards (WFAs) is the one and only global award program that focuses entirely on wedding films and is designed to celebrate some of the best, most innovative and highly respected filmmakers in the Love Stories TV community. The winners are chosen based on votes from their peers, making the honor even more special and meaningful for our talented community.

A host of talented presenters including Jove Meyer, Brittany Lo, Lauren Chan, and Micah Jesse will present the awards the evening of Monday, April 23 in an Oscars-style live show. Can’t make it to NYC? Don’t fret. The awards will be live streamed across multiple channels and platforms and we encourage you to dust off that sequined gown, pop some popcorn, and enjoy the show with us from the comfort of your very own couch! Wedding filmmakers, members of the media and industry influencers will be in attendance to witness the awards and enjoy a celebratory cocktail reception afterwards. You can follow all the fun on Instagram with @LoveStoriesTV + #LSTVWFA.

Why are we so dedicated to celebrating wedding filmmakers? We’re so glad you asked 😊. We feel so honored to be hosting this event and celebrating all you wedding filmmakers out there. It’s an incredibly exciting time to do what you do. Just look at the incredible list of nominees to see how jaw-droppingly amazing wedding films have become! A few examples:

  • Megan + Taylor by A Little Long Distance: Scenes from this gorgeous ceremony are cut up with “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” scenes, making for one of the most emotionally charged films ever.

  • Abi + Rishi by Fragment Films: This couple had a connection before they ever met. Their colorful Indian wedding in Australia is something you won’t forget.

  • Jennifer + Thiago by Dan West Films: “I found my fantasy and I’ve found it in Thiago.” This Minnesota couple will have you reaching for that box of tissues and believing in love.

These wedding videos literally rival Hollywood films (with a fraction of resources and production budget)  but are even better because they feature real people, real emotions and real love stories. Now that is something to celebrate!

Historically, wedding filmmakers have been one of the most underserved and overlooked categories in the wedding industry but have made major advances in recent years. Now more than ever, couples are recognizing the value and are making room in their wedding budgets for video. As technology advances, so do the requests of our couples and wedding filmmakers are finding exciting and sophisticated ways to capture the most important day of their lives. We created the Wedding Film Awards to recognize the industry’s leading filmmakers, shine a spotlight on your craft and most innovative work.

As we mentioned, this year’s WFAs are presented in partnership with B&H, who will be kicking off their Depth Of Field Conference the next day and will run from April 24 - 25. Depth Of Field is B&H’s industry conference for portrait, wedding and event photographers and videographers. Depth Of Field will include a video track spearheaded by Love Stories TV, with presentations, interactive stations and live shooting experiences focusing on the art of wedding videography.

You can see the entire list of nominated wedding films and filmmakershere. See you next Monday for an amazing evening to see which incredible films will rise to the top!
