Katelynn described how she met Zach, who was initially against dating her:

“We met in elementary school. Our younger brothers were best friends starting in kindergarten. We grew up going to each other’s houses for holidays and parties.

I started “liking” Zach back in third grade-he wanted nothing to do with me. I vividly remember running after him on the playground calling him “Zachy”. In fifth/sixth grade, we attended a dance together, but Zach still didn’t want to date me. (He even shut me down when I called him from a friends house asking him out.) Through the years, I still made it obvious I liked him. It wasn’t until 2012 when we started playing tennis together. We then spent that summer together showing pigs at the Stanislaus County Fair. We have been together ever since.

On October 7, 2018, we took a day trip to Yosemite. After going on a short hike, Zach made sure to find a private spot where he got down on one knee. I was soooo excited! I was calling all of our family and friends. Zach was trying to get me to calm down because he knew I would want pictures to commemorate the occasion.”

They did something neat for the first look that I haven’t seen before. After seeing each other for the first time that afternoon, they read letters to each other, expressing their excitement for that day and for the lifetime ahead of them.

Another unique thing that I thought was a perfect idea was during dinner, Zach and Katelynn were set up in the bridal room by themselves to eat. It was a moment of quiet for them before they headed out for the rest of the reception. They had a live band to dance to and a sparkler send off. It was an amazing wedding to capture on video!
