From The Bride:

Chad and I met in April 2014 through a mutual friend. I was actually in a long-term relationship with a boyfriend that I had met in medical school at the time. I broke up with him the following day when Chad called and asked me out on a date. From that moment, Chad and I were inseparable. We had 3 hour long conversations every night until he took me on our first date 5 days later. We were so into each other and our conversation at dinner that we finished a bottle of wine and 90 minutes later realized we hadn’t even ordered our meal yet! We moved pretty quickly. I pretty much packed up my stuff from my parent’s house and started living with him 6 months into dating – mind you, he had 2 male roommates at the time. We also decided it was a good idea to get a dog (AJ – a boxer who is now 3 years old) at the same time. This definitely added some challenges to our relationship but we certainly know we can get through anything after raising a puppy! I applied for OBGYN residency in the fall of 2015 and interviewed all over the United States for a position. Chad was all in and planned on moving with me wherever I ended up. Luckily, I matched OBGYN in Detroit, where both him and I grew up in March 2016. We got engaged in July 2016, during the same month I started residency. He actually proposed to me after working a 14 hour shift (Needless to say, my hair and makeup was a mess and it was not what I had envisioned me to look like on our engagement night). It was the sweetest moment though when he took us right back to the first place we met – the Royal Oak Farmer’s Market. It was truly the best moment of my life when he got down on one knee to propose.

Wedding planning was a handful. I knew I had to give enough time to plan the wedding and so New Year’s Eve seemed to be the perfect date. I would be off work that holiday and it would give a year and a half to plan. Despite working 70-80 hour work weeks, I somehow managed to create our fairytale wedding. There were definitely moments of weakness, many tears/arguments, and times when I wanted to give up the dream of a big wedding and just go elope. With the support of my husband and close family/friends, I was able to successfully plan the most amazing night of our lives. We brought to together our families and closest friends and were surrounded by so much love. I wish I could go back and relive that day again, but thankfully Blue Racer captured our day in the most beautiful way!
