From The Bride:

I married my husband almost a year ago, on September 10, 2016. It didn’t take us long to find the perfect venue for us. Scott is a pilot, so we knew we wanted our wedding to be surrounded by what we both have grown to love. Our engagement pictures were taken at Oakland County Airport, where we had a photoshoot in the jets Scott flies, standing on the steps, sitting on the wings, sitting on suitcases, and in the cockpit. It was the most fun day and our pictures turned out amazing! We booked our ceremony and reception at the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Michigan. Our cocktail hour allowed our guests to walk around the museum and look at all of the old cars and planes. Our guests raved about it, and still do! Scott helped out with making a lot of the decorations for our big day. He even folded 250 paper airplanes for our ceremony programs. Talk about dedication! We also had a giant world globe on a stand that we had our guests sign in place of a guest book, which read “Love Makes the World Go Round, Please Sign Our Globe.” Scott wore airplane cuff links and Kristin had a small plane broach attached to her bridal bouquet. Kristin and Scott sat at “Pilot” and “Copilot” chairs along with their bridal party. Kristin made paper bouquets out of maps for some decor, we used a suitcase for our card box, and our guests located their seats by viewing an “Arrivals” board where they found their “gate” or table number. We had many DIY signs, “Cool Your Jets” for the bar, “Welcome Aboard” funny flight introduction, “Luggage Drop Off” for the gift table, “The New Mr. and Mrs. are Cleared for Take Off” sign, “09-10-16 Check In” sign, and “Baggage Claim” where our guests could take “Love is in the Air” tumblers on their way out. We were able to take pictures all through Greenfield Village, which was such a memorable part of our day! Model T’s, Model A’s, and other old cars drove around the village while we used all the historic scenery as our backdrop to our wedding day! It made for the most beautiful pictures we could have ever imagined! Our reception was set up inside the museum, and the dance floor was underneath the historic DC-3 airplane, which hung above our guests. Throughout the evening, our guests were able to walk around through the museum as they pleased. I wouldn’t change a thing about our day! I can’t watch our video with out crying and I’ve watched it countless of times!
